As Gaius Julius Caesar released his bonds by crossing the forbidden Rubicon River on January 11, 49 BC, he knew there would be no turning back. The die was cast. Such as it is when we cross into the world where our fantasies become reality and our bonds become tangible.
For some of us it takes years to cross and see that we have, fully; for others it is a transition hardly noticeable, but when we reach the shore it is warm and welcoming . . . a new home.
